Dec. 16th, 2019 09:02 am( For once it's a video post from Aegon Targaryen and immediately those who have met the young man will know something is up. His usual apathetic expression is now that of a person seemingly trying to keep their shit together, and Aegon's hair is now neatly combed and his head adorned with a dark, metal crown. The wall behind Aegon is covered with the family tapestry he's lifted from Aemond's room, everything well lit thanks to the assistance of one Nicholas Ó Broin helping out with things the Targaryens have little idea on; who knew that good direction was essential to make one's message stand out all the more? And for once, the message is an important one for some.)
My fellow manor guests, and our gracious hosts the Balfours,
I come to you not only as a King, but as a son. On this cold, cold day, I stand before you with a heart full of grief. I have been told that in this place, Christmas is a time of joy and celebration, but today also brings with it the echoes of loss. It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of my beloved mother, Queen Dowager Alicent of House Hightower, Mother to The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, who has been the guiding light of our family and the realm for so many years.
Her death weighs heavily on me, my brother, on all of those who knew her. Christmas celebrates unity and the holy day's cheer, but I cannot help but feel the profound sorrow of a son who has lost his mother. One of many losses suffered by our family, beginning from our father's death just this past year.
I take solace in knowing that my mother’s memory remains a luminous light within us all, friend and stranger alike. I hope that we can find strength in one another, and that together we will honour her memory in all that we do.
Though we are not beholden to Queen Alicent's faith, my brother and I will hold vigil in her name as the Faith of The Seven dictates. As is custom for someone of her station, we are not allowing visitors. We ask for our privacy to be respected in this harrowing period.
